Song Saa Shawl

Song Saa is the Khmer word for sweetheart. Once considered salacious to have a song saa, modern times and evolving traditions have made this word more accepted, conjuring romantic visions of young love and the pangs of excitement from meeting someone new.

This gauze cotton scarf was handwoven in Takeo Province especially for MadeFAIR. In Cambodia, it's is called a krama, and serves as a wardrobe staple among the people during every season. They're worn by farmers and traditional laborers to protect their heads and necks from the scorching equitorial sun, and it's common practice to soak them in water to keep cool during dry months.

Our updated, oversized version is the quintessential traveling companion. Its neutral black and gray stripes lends themselves to every outfit you can pack in your suitcase, and it's light, airy material can be easily folded into a carry-on, beach bag, or tote.

The Song Saa scarf is available from Black Friday through Cyber Monday.

I love the scarf, I just wish it were a teeny bit longer. I tied two corners together to make it an infinity scarf, and it just barely fits around my neck twice, but it's too long to only go around once.

I sent the scarf to my sister for Christmas. Sizes would not apply to the scarf. It is lovely though. Thanks for the opportunity to support this cause.

I like it. It has faded a little where there was a stain, so that is a bit disappointing. But I realize it's natural, and that's important to me, so no big deal.

The scarf I purchased works well. I height, weight and bra size do not factor in.

I bought three shawls as presents for family and they all love them! It is a very special and unique piece and versatile.

The weave is a bit more coarse than I expected and I would have liked more pink in it as that's what I was looking for. But it made a lovely birthday gift for my daughter-in-law.

Scarf feels great.

Loved the wrap almost as much as I loved the un-Black Friday promotion that was running when I purchased it. The wrap itself is lovely, made a great gift. I did wish it came with a card that gave it's story - that would have been nice to include. Overall, very happy. I'll definitely by from MadeFair again.
We purchased the scarf for our 20+ granddaughter for Christmas. She LOVES it! And we loved giving it to her. And we all are so glad to purchase a handmade item that will help keep the maker safe. Thank you.

I'm delighted with my Song Saa shawl. It's light and airy and has become a staple accessory in my wardrobe. I like the little touch of pink at the edges.

I bought 3 of these - 2 as gifts and one to keep for myself. They were well received and I love mine! It was a great purchase, and for a good cause.
